Biography I like to think of myself as an extremely versatile guitarist. I first got interested in music when I was 14 years old. I had a good friend by the name of Jimmy Fisher who played the guitar. He suggested I buy a Bass Guitar so that I could join his band so I did. I played Bass for a short time and then switched to the Drums. All through my high school years I had mainly played the Drums. Playing the drums was my life until one day when my friend Chuck asked me to go to a concert to see Joe Satriani. At the time I had never heard of Joe Satriani or had heard any of his music. The night of the concert came and I was so blown away by Satriani's guitar playing I sold my drums the next day and bought a guitar. I became obsessed with the guitar right away and it just took over my life! I did not pick up the guitar until the age of 20 and I am determined to reach all of my musical goals. In the early stages of my playing such artist as Joe Satriani, Greg Howe, Paul Gilbert and Larry Mitchell were my biggest influences. Although I continue to play and listen to instrumental rock my recent passion has become jazz with influence from musicians like Larry Carlton, Joe Pass, Jimmy Bruno and Dave Manley. Currently, I am teaching private Guitar lessons, Playing guitar in the instrumental Rock band “TINA EARNER”, and as always Practicing, Practicing and Practicing!!! |
